April flowers bring May showers.

Hey y'all,
Thought it was about time to bring you up to speed on what's going on in the world of BlackJack Ketchum. ;) In March we traveled to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, for the North American Country Music Association's annual talent competition and awards show. After performing for a panel of music industry judges , we were SO excited to be named Band of the Year, Entertainer of the Year, and 2nd Place Vocalist of the Year 2008. Wow! What a great weekend. :)
Other than that we've been "playin' in a travelin' band" and hitting tons of venues, large and small (the guys in the band have been working their butts off, haha). We've also been busy writing original songs- if you've been out to a show recently, you've probably heard a couple of them. We'll hit the studio in June to track them for our first E.P. project...I can't wait to put those songs out there! We'll release the cd in July- cross your fingers that all goes well.
Also, www.atlantacountrymusic.com has just posted an exclusive interview. If you visit their home page and click on "artist interviews" you can see it there. Very cool website to check out if you're a country music fan.
And one last thing...be sure to check out the shows page often- it is constantly being updated with new events. Hope to see you at a few of 'em soon! You ROCK!
