Something nice happened twice....

Hey everybody,
Thought it was about time to check in with you all again and keep you up to date, although I've been chatting with you on Myspace so much that you probably know it better than I do. :P It has been a crazy past couple of months with a lot of ups and downs. I was so grateful at the Georgia Country Music Awards last month to take home Female Vocalist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year again and that was awesome (hence the title of this journal!) I am completely bewildered about that but very thankful. Also, the band took home the award for Most Promising Band of the Year (2nd place), so we'll all be heading up to Tennessee in March to compete for the national title~ yikes. :) Nashville Star winner Chris Young also performed at the show and he was great! I don't watch t.v. a lot so it was like discovering a cool new artist even though he's been out there for a little while! But that's me, living under a rock. ;P
On a different note, the health problems have been off and on and I appreciate you guys so much for hanging in there with me and showing your support. I don't think it's anything TOO serious, just very annoying and interruptive. But oh, well. I'm not going to stop kicking just because it gets in the way every once in a while. Life has a way of doing that anyway, no matter what the cause. :)
So back to the fun stuff (lol!). We are heading up to Tennessee this month to perform in Ten Mile and I am so excited. I think all of us in the band are considering it an after Christmas vacation because we have so much fun up there! Last time we went up to Ten Mile it was an awesome weekend. There were bar fights every time we played "Mary Jane's Last Dance" (STILL have not figured THAT out~ how could you fight to that song??), we rode four- wheelers and Brant (guitar) and Ivonne (vocals) flipped one of them down the mountain (now known as the "Hill of Death") and almost killed themselves. And that's just a tiny portion of all that went on. haha~ so yeah, I'm more than looking forward to it.
Anyway, after that we're off for a couple of weeks until we perform at Dillon's in Lawrenceville. I know a lot of you are from around that area so I hope you'll come hang with us on the 11th and 12th of the new year. It's one of my favorite spots to hang out anyway so I am psyched about hitting the stage. On Friday the 11th we actually have Georgia-Country.com coming out to join us for the night, with give-a-ways and all that good stuff- should be a blast! Then Saturday is our night and that always gets a little crazy.;) So we as a band are pretty much asking you out on a date that weekend... hehe.
I have written a TON this time so if you've gotten this far, give yourself a pat on the back or a diet Coke or what have you. I'll check in with you again in January, and keep in touch!
Love ya,
Ashley
